Awareness Workshop on High Performance Computing Under AICTE-SANKALP (1)

Roorkee: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Haridwar University, under the aegis of the Institute Innovation Cell and the AICTE-Sankalp initiative, organized a special guest lecture on High Performance Computing.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mahendra Singh Aswal, a distinguished academician and Associate Professor at Gurukul Kangri (Deemed University), Haridwar. With over 25 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Aswal is also the President of the Computer Society of India, Haridwar Chapter. He provided profound insights into the dynamic field of High Performance Computing, emphasizing its significance, real-world applications, and future potential.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by the Chairman of Haridwar University, C.A. S. K. Gupta, and Vice Chancellor Dr. D. B. Singh, who presented a bouquet to Dr. Aswal as a token of respect. The lecture concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where attendees actively participated, gaining valuable knowledge and clarity on the subject.

To acknowledge Dr. Aswal’s contribution, Dr. Sumit Kumar, Head of the CSE Department, presented him with a memento as a gesture of appreciation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Narayana, representing the CSE Department, who expressed gratitude to Dr. Aswal, the organizing team, faculty members, and students. He highlighted the department’s commitment to fostering a culture of learning and innovation through such impactful events.

Additionally, at 3 PM, a workshop on NPTEL was conducted by Dr. Ranjana Pathania, Coordinator of the Living Centre at IIT Roorkee. She elaborated on NPTEL initiatives, including credit transfers and faculty development programs, as per UGC and AICTE guidelines, raising awareness among attendees about these critical opportunities.
