HU Marks Gandhi Jayanti with Swachhata Shapath Grahan Event

Haridwar, 1-Oct: In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, Haridwar University hosted a meaningful Swachhata Shapath Grahan event, uniting students and faculty in the shared commitment to cleanliness. The event featured thought-provoking speeches by Prof. Sanjana Singh, PVC Dr. Rama Bhargava and PVC Dr. Brij Mohan Singh.

PVC Dr. Rama Bhargava, addressing the crowd, emphasized the importance of “cleaning our brains” to achieve mental clarity and discipline, reflecting on how internal cleanliness mirrors external efforts. PVC Dr. BM Singh underscored the significance of initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Clean India, Green India, encouraging students to adopt a holistic approach to cleanliness that includes environmental sustainability.

Haridwar University students also took part in the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2024 on October 2nd, in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The event was held at Ambedkar Park in Telliwala village, where students raised awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean environment through interactions with the local community.

This series of events honored Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean India, fostering a sense of shared responsibility among students and villagers alike, promoting environmental stewardship, and inspiring collective action for a greener future.
