National Statistics Day 2025

National Statistics Day is observed to honor one of India’s most prominent modern statisticians, Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis. When is National Statistics Day Celebrated?

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) last celebrated the 18th Statistics Day on June 29, 2024, at the Manekshaw Centre Auditorium, Khyber Lines, Delhi Cantonment, New Delhi. National Statistics Day will be celebrated on Sunday, 29th June 2025. On this occasion, Haridwar University encourages all students to understand and appreciate the importance of statistics in modern society. The university aims to inspire students to explore how data and statistical tools can contribute to nation-building, scientific research, and smart decision-making in various fields such as business, technology, healthcare, and public policy.
