HURET (PhD)

Haridwar University offers an esteemed Ph.D. program designed to accommodate both Part-Time and Full-Time candidates. Admission to the program is facilitated through the Haridwar University Research Eligibility Test (HURET), conducted by the university. This entrance test is followed by an interview, which the university administers twice a year. The number of eligible students invited for an interview is determined by the availability of Ph.D. seats. Candidates who have already qualified for national-level tests such as UGC-NET (including JRF) or UGC-CSIR NET are exempted from taking the Haridwar University Entrance Test (HURET).

Eligibility Criteria:

A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other.

Programme Curriculum

All candidates admitted to the Ph.D. programme will be required to complete the course work prescribed by the University during the initial one or two semesters.

The course work shall consist of the following four courses:

HOW TO APPLY

Step-1: Fill the Registration/ Application Form available on University website
Step 2: Confirm Programme/Specialisation, and No. of seats available
Step 3: Complete Additional details/Educational Details & Upload photo signature & Documents.
Step 4: Proceed with the payment of the registration/application fee.
Step-5: Appear in HURET Exam (In the case, Ph.D application approved) as per schedule declared by University.
       OR
Candidates with valid selection from NET / GATE / SET / UET / any other equivalent test conducted by GOI accredited agency (to be decided by the selection committee) are exempted from entrance test and get preference in selection.
Step-6: Interview.
