IIC (Institute Innovation Cell)
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has established the 'MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)' to promote innovation in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The MIC's primary goal is to support young students in developing new ideas and prototyping them during their formative years. The MIC also aims to encourage the establishment of 'Institution's Innovation Councils'. We proud to announce that Haridwar University focus on ministry guidelines and have institute innovation cell.
The primary focus of IIC is -
- To establish a dynamic local innovation ecosystem.
- Start-up/entrepreneurship Support Mechanism at Higher Education Institutions.
- Prepare the institute for the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement Framework (ARIIA).
- Create a Function Ecosystem for Scouting Ideas and Pre-incubation of Ideas.
- Improve cognitive ability among technology students.
Functions of the IIC
- Promote innovation at the institution through various means, resulting in an innovation promotion eco-system on campus.
- To carry out different innovation and entrepreneurship-related initiatives as directed by the Central MIC within a specific timeframe.
- Recognise and reward innovation, and share success stories.
- Organise regular workshops/seminars/interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals, and establish a mentor pool for student innovators.
- Network with your peers and national entrepreneurial development organisations.
- Create an Institutional Innovation Portal to promote creative initiatives completed by the institution's teachers and students.
- Organise hackathons, concept competitions, mini-challenges, and other events involving industry engagement.

YUKTI - National Innovation Repository (NIR) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India, and it is implemented by MoE's Innovation Cell and AICTE to build a system of repository of ideas, innovations, and startups developed in academic institutions, and enabling institutions to systematically foster the I&E culture by managing and nurturing these innovations by offering continuous support in terms of one-on-one mentorship, grant assistance, reference.
KAPILA
KAPILA is a plan that gives financial help to institutions affiliated with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in order to file patent applications. 'KAPILA: Kalam Programme for IP Literacy and Awareness', which will raise awareness about the importance of IP filing, the mechanisms and methodologies involved in filing IP in India and throughout the world, particularly among students and faculty in higher education institutions.
ARIIA
The Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is a Ministry of Education (MoE) initiative that systematically ranks all major higher educational institutions and universities in India based on indicators related to "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development" among students and faculty.
