Mechanical Lab

Practical experimentation and testing are the foundations of modern engineering practice. Laboratory work is essential for developing a fundamental knowledge of how materials, parts, components, or systems will react in a range of situations. As such, mechanical engineering students must be able to function efficiently in this environment. This laboratory provides a fundamental grasp of structural members under load. Students will observe changes in structural behavior as a result of load application. The fundamentals of determinate structures will be presented through experimentation. The primary objective of any building is to support the loads placed on it by appropriately transferring them to the foundation. Students will be able to calculate internal and external forces, as well as displacements caused by the application of loads, in order to ensure the structural safety. A detailed analysis will be undertaken to identify the bending moments, shear force, axial forces, and so on at the appropriate section.
